Abstract: . . . ________________________________________ ________________________________________ Are there any medications to treat pre- diabetes ? No drug has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration specifically for pre- diabetes . However, several medications available by prescription for diabetes or weight loss have been used in studies. Though certain drugs do seem to delay or prevent diabetes , they dont work nearly as well as eating less, being active, and losing weight. At this time, experts recommend eating less, increasing physical activity, and losing weight as the best ways to treat pre- diabetes , instead of taking medications.
